American Idol: “Idol Gives Back”

My wife and I make it a habit to sit down every week after our almost four year old son goes to bed and watch American Idol in fast mode. Meaning, we record it on Tivo and then watch it without the commercials or other fluff that we deem unnecessary. Well, this past week American Idol held its special charity event show titled “Idol Gives Back” and it was an awesome show with a lot of heart wrenching footage from poor and suffering children and families from around America and Africa. American Idol used its fame, power and ratings to launch a campaign to make the world a better place. As of last week, it became more than just a fluff show and moved into the realm of becoming a true powerhouse when it comes to fighting the wrongs in our world. I urge and challenge American Idol to continue this effort and to even become more active in the world. Millions of people tune in every week to watch this show and this show has the capability to really make a positive difference in many areas. I also would challenge other shows, companies and famous American Icons to get on board and use your money, power, influence and fame to make a difference in the Real world around you. American Idol has embraced the American spirit of charity, giving and caring! Now what is Your excuse for not getting involved? Get inspired to get involved more than you have been in the past. Take a stance on an issue that is important to you and your community. Maybe it’s time You give back!!
